France gains a stronghold in eastern Canada while England does the same on the Atlantic Coast of what is now the USA..

French were friendly with the natives and traded fur. The Inuit people taught them how to fish in the ice and hunt animals, using the fur and hide as coats and shoes.

​Climate: North is Cold

The French also brought Christianity, especially Catholicism to Canada and much of the United States. It is still practiced today by many.

In Eastern Canada, especially in Quebec, Canadians speak French, which was brought to France by French Colonizers.
