Electric Mixers

There are two main types of
electric mixers:

Hand-held mixers: which are good for small

jobs such as mixing small amounts of batters
or mash potatoes

Stand mixers: which have a bowl that fits on

the stand and rotate as the food is beaten.
These are used for large amounts of batter,
heavy dough or bread batters.

Care for Mixers

Mixers should be thoroughly cleaned after using.

Do not put too much mixture in the bowl as this will

cause the mixture to spill out and can also ruin the
motor.

Do not let the mixer run for too long as this may

overwork the motor.

When not in use store in a dry place, covered to

protect it from dust.

Care for Blenders

To clean, put some warm soapy water inside and turn on for a short time. This helps to remove particles and stuck-on foods.

Remove all parts and wash in warm soapy water, dry and reassemble.

When not in use, keep covered to protect from dust.

Do not overfill when using. Do not fill more than two- thirds full.

Make sure the motor has stopped completely before removing the cover.

Care for Microwave Ovens

Do not use metal or foil in the microwave oven.

Keep the door tightly closed.

Never insert objects through the door.

Wipe inside with a damp cloth

Remove spilled foods by placing a bowl of boiling

water inside. The steam will soften and loosen the food and make it easy to remove.
