Possible Student Misconceptions

●Students may think that only one object is affected in a collision. [Both objects may change shape.]

●Students may think that forces can only come from phenomena such as the wind. People and objects
can exert a force on other objects.

●Students may think that forces are not acting upon objects at rest. Grade 2 student have not learned
about gravity. However, they will be exposed to the force that acts upon all objects causing them to fall
to the ground.
