​A possessive identifies who or what has something or to whom something belongs.

Un posesivo identifica quién o qué tiene algo o a quién pertenece algo.

​To make a singular noun possessive, add an apostrophe and -s ('s).

​Possessives follow the same voicing rules as plurals. If the consonant before the 's is voiced, the 's will make the /z/ sound. If the consonant before the 's is voiceless, the 's will make the /s/ sound.
