Present Progressive is a tense used to talk about:

Actions that are currently in progress.

Formation in English:

An Auxiliary verb that means “to be”. Aux. verbs sort of help out. You can
think it helps give the other verb clear meaning in the sentence.

I am running.

She is eating.

The child is jumping.
