● How a character’s feelings influence what happens and how
things are described in a story
● Why a character says or does what they say
● A character’s experiences, background, preferences, feelings,
and thoughts affect how a story is told
● Every character’s perspective is unique

The actions and events of the story
are told by a character or an outside
observer.
Point of view is the standpoint from
