• Runs the federal government - enforcing laws passed by Congress.

• The Businss side of it.

C. Chief Diplomat

D. Commander-in-Chief

• Represent the US with foreign affairs

• Negotiations and relationships with other countries

• Set tone for foreign policy

• Make treaties

• Authority over the military

• DEploy troops

• Manage national defence

• Directs the militarty

E. Chief Legislator

F. Chief Administrator

• CEO of Federal govt

• Make sure agencies are doing their jobs and thing s are running smoothly

• Make sure govt is working effectively for the people

• Influence legislative matters

• Propose bills

• Suggest laws

• Sign bills into laws/veto them

G. Chief of Party

H. Chief Citizen
A role model ?

• Leader of their political party (Dem/REpublican)

• Unite party to common goals

• Support party members in elections

​Act in the best interest of the people and be a moral leader (honesty, integrity, responsibility)

25th Amendment

• If the President can't serve (illness, death, etc) - the VP takes over!

  • Then Speaker of House, Pres Pro Tempore, etc.....

**Only serve as President for 2 Terms!

• two full terms

• maximum of 10 years

• 35 years old

• natural born citizen

• reside in U.S. for at least 14 years

• unofficial requirements more important to voters
