  • The Yanomami people live in the rain forests of northern Brazil in an area called the Amazon Basin.

  • The Yanomami use natural resources in this habitat to survive. They hunt deer and grow vegetables in gardens. They use wood from trees to build shelters,weave baskets,and make fire. Before they use too many of an area's natural resources, they move to a new plot of land. Then the land where they lived can return to its natural state.

  • Rio deJaneiro is a large city on the coast of Brazil. The area was once a mountain forest full of wildlife. In the 1500s, settlers came.They Cut down the trees and plowed the soil. They planted sugar and coffee.Less than 10 percent of the original forest remains. More Than 15 million people live in Rio de Janeiro today.
