Narrative text is a spoken or written account that tells a story through events.

There are 4 structures of narrative text. They are:
1. orientation
2. Complication
3. Resolution
4. Re-orientation

1. Orientation

   Pengenalan tokoh (characters), waktu (time), dan tempat (place).

2. Complication

   Pengembangan konflik/masalah (problem).

​Narrative Text

3. Resolution

   Penyelesaian konflik/masalah (problem solving).

4. Re-orientation

   Perubahan yang terjadi pada tokohatau pelajaran yang dapat dipetik dari suatu cerita (moral lesson).

The sentence form used in narrative text is simple past tense.

​Narrative Text

The pattern :
- Subject + Verb2 + Object + Complement

- Subject + Tobe (was, were) + non verb

1. The elephant entered the forest to find some friends.

2. The elephant was sad.
