Questions
1.
A taxi firm buys 2 cars for £26 000. How much would 5
cars cost?
£26 000 ÷ 2 = £13 000 each car
£13 000 X 5 = £65 000 for 5 cars
2.
A stair carpet cost £64 for 8m2. How much would 21m2
cost?
£64 ÷ 8 = £8 per 1m2 so £8 x 21 = £168 for 21m2
3.
A car used 4 gallons of petrol to travel 200 miles. How far
will it travel on 9 gallons of petrol?
200 miles ÷ 4 gallons = 50 miles per gallon
So 9 gallons x 50 miles = 450 miles on 9 gallons
