Presidential Race:
The Electoral College is a group of representatives from each state responsible for formally electing the President and Vice President of the United States.
When citizens vote in a presidential election, they are voting for electors pledged to their chosen candidate; the candidate who receives at least 270 out of 538 electoral votes wins.
This system, established in the U.S. Constitution, balances the influence of populous states with that of less populous ones in the election process.
