As we complete Lit Circle, we want to be good participants
Active participant: being engaged in an activity, being aware of what is happening, and being alert. Your mind is focused on what you are doing.
Passive participant: being included in a situation but not taking part in it. You are there, but you are focused on something else.
Active vs. Passive

Your classmates will probably not be completing the same job as you every day
You have the freedom to complete the literature circle jobs in the order you choose
You can still have a good discussion with your classmates even if you are completing different jobs (or are at different sections of the book)
To learn more about discussion hints and tricks for each literature circle job, take a look at the hotspots on page 5 of your edio lesson
Discussion Hints and Tricks

Each day you will be choosing a different job to do, if you need a refresher on the different jobs, check the slides on page 6 of today's edio lesson
Use the Job Chart on page 93 and the Notes on pages 94-103 in your ELA Notebook to record annotations for your job and readings each day
Remember, you are only completing one job per day!
