QUESTION:

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
‘
A’, ‘AN’
AND ‘
THE’
?
Let’s start with ‘a’, when is it used?
It’s used for something in general, not something
specific.
It’s used only for a singular object, place or person.
i.e. meaning only one. It has to be a countable noun.
It’s used when you mention something in general for
a person, place or object for the very first time. After
that, you’d use ‘the’.
Ex: I have a book. The book is blue.

‘a’ is used with consonant letters
Ex: a book, a chair, a candle, a video
‘an’ is used with vowel letters.
What are the vowel letters?
a, e, i, o, u
Ex: an apple, an article, an orange
