Precise Word Choice

Also called diction, means words and phrases that make meaning EXACT and DEFINITE.

Precise Word Choice

Example: When an author describes characters they choose words that help the reader form a distinct, specific image in their minds of what these characters look like, how they feel, and how they behave.

In this lesson we will analyze what the precise language, as well as the details in the illustrations, of this text help reveal or convey to us as readers.
