Mooseltoe

Mr. Moose was very merry! He loved Christmas so much, even his

giant moustache had the holiday
spirit!

He was more than just

merry, though. He was very busy
with so much to do! He couldn’t
waste one minute. The first
thing on his list of things to do
was writing Christmas cards, so
he wrote Christmas cards until his hooves hurt.

The next thing on his list was presents for everyone, so he

shopped until he dropped. Mr. Moose brought home all the presents
and started wrapping. He used bright ribbons and tied them in
beautiful bows. Everything was going so well!

Decorations were the next thing on his list. So Mr. Moose

decorated the halls and walls. He hung ribbons and beads, garlands and
wreaths. Last but not least, he hung all the stockings, and just in time
too! Santa would soon be there! Mr. Moose was so proud of himself!
Everything looked perfect!

That night when his family got home, they looked around and

thought that everything was beautiful! But then his son, Junior,
noticed a small problem. “Oh no Dad! You forgot the tree!!”

“Oops!” said Mr. Moose.
“Where will Santa put all our presents?” asked his daughter.
“We must have somewhere to hang the ornaments and light the

lights!” said Mrs. Moose.

So, Mr. Moose went back out to get a tree. But at every store

he tried to go to, there were no trees to be found! He walked back
home empty handed, with his head down low.

His kids looked so disappointed when

they saw him walk back inside with no tree.
Mr. Moose knew he had to do something! Then
he got an idea.

“Go get our lights and ornaments,” he

told his family. “I and my moustache will be
the Christmas tree tonight!” So they hung
ornaments and strung all the lights around Mr.
Moose and his moustache. Junior put the star
on his head, and then they all stepped back.
Everything looked perfect!

In a little while, his family said, “Good

night!” and went to bed as Mr. Moose stayed where he was. He knew
he had to stay where he was to be ready when Santa came. And
after only a little while in the dark, he heard an exciting sound: “Ho!
Ho! Ho!”
