What are Renewable Resources?
A renewable resource is a natural resource that cannot be used up.
Natural resources that take a short time to be replaced such as animals or
plants are called renewable resources.
Air & Wind
Soil
Trees/Plants
Water

Let’s revisit the phenomenon
What are examples of
renewable and
nonrenewable
resources?
16
Natural Resources
Resources that can be
found in nature and are
used by people, such as
sunlight, air, water,
plants, and animals
17
Renewable Resources
Resources such as
wood, water, or plants
that can be replenished
naturally over time
18
Nonrenewable Resources
Resources, such as
fossil fuels, that cannot
be replaced after they
are used
19
Fossil Fuels
Fuels such as oil, coal,
or natural gas that are
formed in the earth from
plant or animal remains
