Can you name any of the organelles that might be inside of the cells in your body?
4
Recall that a cell is a type of living system. Cells are the smallest units of living things that are considered alive.
Cells are systems composed of smaller structures called organelles. Each organelle performs a function that helps the cell to do its job as a system.
Sometimes a cell's job is to be an entire organism. Unicellular organisms consist of only one cell. Some cells are part of multicellular organisms. In eukaryotes composed of many cells, each cell has a specific job as part of the organism.
5
In today's lesson, you will learn about some of the organelles found in eukaryotic cells. You will take notes about the following organelles:
plasma membrane;
nucleus;
nucleolus;
Golgi body;
vesicle;
rough endoplasmic reticulum (rough ER); and
smooth endoplasmic reticulum (smooth ER).
As you learn about each organelle, draw a sketch of the organelle and take notes about it in the table in Cellular Organelles Day 1 Notes. Press to the next page to learn more.

REMINDER!
THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE NOTES!
We will be taking notes together today on Microsoft Whiteboard at the end of class because these are very important to know!!!
We will be focusing on this half of the organelles today, and the other half of the organelles tomorrow.
