  • The U.S. founders wrote the Declaration of Independence to let the world know the complaints of the colonies and declare its freedom from England.

  • About 10 years after the Founding Fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. won its freedom from England, representatives from every colony came together to write laws for our country.

  • This document was mostly written by James Madison and it was named The Constitution.
