When writing descriptions, using colour is a great way to begin to create a vivid picture in the reader’s mind.
However, colours can be a lot more exciting than just red, green, and blue.
For example , Forest green is quite different from lime.

Here are some examples of how specific colours can be used in description:
blood-red lips
pure-white skin
revolting green wart
ghostly grey pallor (appearance)

Using the colours on the writing mat in your classroom, can you copy out these sentences and add in a colour which you feel describes the scene really well.
