Section 1 Review

​This story features a teenager named Kami and her futurist aunt, Luba. Luna predicts the future based on current trends and research. Kami is interested in becoming a doctor, and her aunt is helping her learn more about medicine.

​Luna decides that before they can learn about the future, they should learn about the past. They go to visit her friend Anna who is a doctor.

She tells them about Chinese smallpox prevention in the Middle Ages, Edward Jenner's use of cowpox to vaccinate people against smallpox, and the discovery of germs.

​Anna tells them about significant medical advancements such as:
