Section 1 Review
This story features a teenager named Kami and her futurist aunt, Luba. Luna predicts the future based on current trends and research. Kami is interested in becoming a doctor, and her aunt is helping her learn more about medicine.
Luna decides that before they can learn about the future, they should learn about the past. They go to visit her friend Anna who is a doctor.
She tells them about Chinese smallpox prevention in the Middle Ages, Edward Jenner's use of cowpox to vaccinate people against smallpox, and the discovery of germs.
Anna tells them about significant medical advancements such as:

antibiotic drugs;
the discovery of DNA;
organ transplants;
smallpox eradication;
cloned animals; and
a map of the human genome.
