What is procedure text?

A procedure text is a text that explains the steps in doing something.

Its purpose is to provide clear instructions so that readers can follow and complete an activity or task.

Examples of Procedure Texts

• Orange Juice Recipe:
  Prepare 4 oranges.

• Pour the orange juice into a glass.

• Add a little honey, if you like.

• Orange juice is ready to serve!

• Purpose - Describes what the procedure aims to achieve or result.

• Materials - Lists the materials or tools needed.

• Steps - The sequence of actions or processes to be performed.

• Sequence: e.g. “first,” “second,” “next,” etc.

• Ingredients: e.g. “water,” “sugar,” “toaster,” etc.
