  • ​Objective:

    • Students will be able to factor a trinomial in the form ax2+bx+c into two binomial factors using either the GFC method or the "slide n' divide" method.

Slide n' Divide

  1. "Slide" a to the end of the trinomial and multiply by c.

  2. Factor this new basic trinomial.

  3. Divide both factors by the value you "slid" over in step 1.

  4. Reduce fractions and then "move" any denominators up next to the variable. Distribute to check.
