  1. Always carry the microscope with TWO HANDS. One hand holding the arm, and the other holding the base.

  2. Always start with the LOWEST POWER OBJECTIVE. Once you focus the object at that objective, you can move up to a higher one. Once on the highest power objective, DO NOT USE THE COURSE ADJUSTMENT KNOB.
