2

The simple version of it is to multiply the inside by the out side

Things you need to know for Multiplying Polynomials

3

Distributive property- Multiplying the term outside the parentheses by the term inside

Exponent-Tell us how many times a base is used as a factor

Variable- a letter; a placeholder for a number

Constant-a fixed value: a term on its own

Coefficient- a number used to multiply a variable

Like term- Terms with variables raised to the same power

4

Multiple Choice

What is the first step to (2x+4^2)(3x+19x+5)

1

Add everything inside of the parentheses

2

Simply 4^2

3

Multply everything in the second parenthese box by 2x

4

add 3x and 19x

5

Multiple Choice

What is the second step to (2x+4^2)(3x+19x+5)

1

Add everything inside of the parentheses

2

Simply 4^2

3

Multply everything in the second parenthese box by 2x

4

add alike terms

6

Try out the equation

(2x+4^2)(3x+19x+5)

7

Multiple Choice

(2x+4^2)(3x+19x+5)

1

44^2 + 36x + 80

2

44x^2 + 88x^2 + 10x+ 10^2

3

132x^2 + 10x + 10^2

8

These are very simple mistakes that may come from not having the previous skills that Multiplying Polynomials builds upon

Fix it

There were a few reasons how you could have got this wrong

  1. You didn't Simplify 3x and + 19x

  2. you didn't simplify 4^2 to 16

The math

Why did you get this wrong?

9

Try something simpler

(5x+7)(10x+4)

10

Fill in the Blank

Type answer...

11

Last one

(5x^2+3^3)(4x-7)

12

Multiple Choice

(5x^2+3^3)(4x-7)

1

20x^3-35x^2+108x-189

2

20^3-35^2+108-189
