How do I convert between units?

Remember, you do NOT need memorize measurements. You will always be able to look this up. However, you do need to know how to convert between units.

Use reference material to help you change one unit of measure to another.

You can use multiplication or division to convert between units

How many pints are in 7 quarts?

Ask yourself: How many pints (pt) make a quart (qt)?

To change larger units to small units multiply.

7 qt = ? pt

1 qt = 2 pt

7 x 2 = 14

7qt = 14 pt

There are 14 pints in 7 quarts
