Organization is a skill that you use throughout many parts of life. An organized pantry helps you realize when your favorite snack is running low. A workspace that is organized helps you save time by being able to find the supplies you need.

Organization is also an important skill when it comes to writing!

Think about this image of an organized shoe cubby and how it can relate to your writing.

Each shoe is stored with its match, just like writers group similar ideas together.

Different pairs of shoes are also separated into different cubbies.

As a writer, it is helpful to group different ideas into different sections or paragraphs.

The next page will have examples on how to make your writing more interesting.
