Adverbs are words that modify verbs, adjectives, other adverbs, or entire sentences, providing additional information about how, when, where, or to what extent something occurs.

Adverbial phrases
An adverbial phrase consists of more than one word to add more information to a verb, adjective, another adverb, or an entire sentence. An adverbial phrase can function as an adverb even without containing an adverb in the group of words. Adverbial phrases often contain a preposition.
