WHAT IS THE RENAISSANCE PERIOD?
Between 1350 and 1650, ways of thinking changed greatly in Europe. As the Black Death eased, people became more confident about the future. Their interest in learning and the arts was renewed. This new interest in culture is called the Renaissance (reh • nuh • SAHNTZ), from the French word for "rebirth

WHAT IS THE RENAISSANCE PERIOD?
The Renaissance began on the Italian Peninsula and was a brilliant flowering (developing) of European culture from the 1300s to 1600s. During this time, the city-state of Florence in Italy became the center of business, art, and learning. It attracted many artists who are still famous today, including Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.
