Discovery of Gold rush and
Sutter's Mill
First discovery was made by James W. and Marshall
Sutter's Mill was a sight to find Gold in the mines
brought different people known as the forty niners to the area for gold
discovery was suppose to be a secret
they cleaned up dirt to find small speeks of gold

forty niners and where they came from
forty niners are the people who came to California just for the gold rush and left afterwards or stayed
many of them came from Mexico,South America, Europe, and Australia
they stayed at places known as "boom-towns" those are towns that once had one buliding then in a blink there many buldings
Most lost their gold due to gambling
some didn't even find gold and gave up and left

Land Law of 1851
Booms town
This land law was in forced to ascertain and settle private land claims for land in the newly formed state of california
Immigrants had to stay there for 10 years or more to become a fully formed person in the area
Many lost their homes and had to leave but the ones that stayed was due to having a good claim to stay
boom towns are places where the miners stayed and made it their home during the california gold rush
most famous boom town is San Francisco
Boom towns did not have any police or prisons so they were free to do what they please. Gambling and fighting were one of them and that had they lost their gold

Mining towns and Chinese exclusion act
Mining towns are the places where miners stayed
there was no law or anything so most people were fighting,drinking, and gambling when wasn't looking for gold
people had to form groups to protect theirselves
Chinese exclusion act was something that kept Chinese and others to not claim land and have no home unless had a good claim to stay
it prohibited Chinese laborers for 10 years

short term of the gold rush
it brought many many people to the land
it mostly clogged up the rivers with dirt
made mostly native Americans leave the area due to the land and how it been treated
it changed from a sparsely populated region to a territory region
the gold didn't last long so people left right after the gold disappeared
