Present Perfect Tense is used to talk about past actions or events that still have a connection to the present: E.g. I have worked really hard this week
We use for to indicate the duration of an action or event that started in the past and continues in the present:
E.g. We have taught at this school for a long time.
We use since to indicate the starting point of an action or event that is still in the present:
E.g. Silvia has lived here since 1980.
