Why were big cities in America growing during the Gilded Age?​

​The Gilded Age

• Big cities in the nation were growing thanks to factories, business, and immigration. 

• Cities were beginning to look more promising than rural areas as they offered more jobs and higher wages for everyone.

• By 1900, 30 million people lived in cities, which was about 30 percent of the population. ​

​Therefore, big cities were growing thanks to business, factories, and immigration.

Inventions that revolutionized factories and businesses were also helping people's lives. Electricity was one of the fastest spreading technologies in cities, making even more people move to them. ​
