Informational Essay Writing Review
This will be a review of what we have learned so far from our slide notes, as well as class lessons. This will be for a grade! Review the slides first before you answer the questions. You may try the review more than once.

What is informative writing?
Informative writing is nonfiction writing about a topic that provides facts and information to the audience.
This type of writing is straightforward, and it does not contain any opinions.
Informative writing sticks to facts and information.
The purpose of informational writing is to inform the readers about a topic.

What is informative writing?
The topic of your essay is what your writing is mainly about.
You use transition words to help make your writing more organized. Some examples of transition words are:
First, Second, Third, Next, Finally, For example, In addition, Similarly, On the contrary, Since, Then, In conclusion, All in all

What is informative writing?
Your essay will have 3-5 paragraphs total. Here are the types of paragraphs you will be writing:
Introduction paragraph: This is where you introduce the topic of your essay, and include your thesis statement. Your thesis statement will answer the question.
Body paragraph: This is where you provide evidence from the text to show that your answer is correct.
Conclusion paragraph: This is where you end your essay. You explain your most important points that you wrote about.
