RULE #4: DON’T USE A PERIOD @ END OF A QUOTATION FOLLOWED BY THINGS LIKE she said, Mom asked, he explained, ETC. USE COMMAS, QUESTION MARKS, AND EXCLAMATION MARKS, NOT PERIODS.
