In 753 BC, the Etruscans reigned under 7 kings.
The kingdom expanded near where the city of Rome is today.

From 753 BC to 509 BC, the area of Rome was ruled by kings. In 509, the Romas overthrew the Etruscan kings and vowed, or promised to never be ruled by kings again. That began a republic, where Senators were a group of leaders who made decisions for the people.
