The ancient Sumerians were very clever. They settled down in small villages and towns in ancient Mesopotamia and were probably the first people to plant, harvest, and store crops. They made strong bricks to build homes. They invented farming tools, like the plow. They also invented a few other things including the wheel, the first sailboat, the first written language, and the first super hero! They made themselves at home in the land between two rivers.
