How This Unit Works

​Muscles & Bones are Learned Together
Focus on Body Regions (Upper Limb, Trunk, Lower Limb)
Bone Box is in the Library for Studying.

• Striations - from sarcomeres

• Full of myofibrils

• Nuclei is pushed to the side

• Innervated by an NMJ (but they don't touch)

• Many synapses. Each bouton forms a synapse but the who area is the NMJ.

• Sheaths of epimysium and perimysium from muscle extend to form tendon

• Not all muscles have a tendon (some weave right into the periosteum of the bone)

• On the right - the lighter pink is the tendon, the darker pink is the muscle

• Chemical synapse between motor neuron and skeletal muscle fibers

• one NMJ is many boutons. one bouton is one synapse

• Tendon is DRCT (different from DICT) and is densly packed with collagen, are avascular
