Distinguish between passive and active voice in sentences.
Students will be able to look at texts and distinguish between the two.

The passive voice is used to show interest in the person or object that experiences an action rather than the person or object that performs the action.
In other words, the most important thing or person becomes the subject of the sentence

Forming Passive Voice
The passive voice in English is composed of two elements :
The appropriate form of the verb 'to be' + past participle.

A: Subject + V1 + Object + Complement
P: Object (Subject) + am/is/are + V3 + by + Object/Pronoun
Example:
A: Ira cleans the house everyday
P: The house is cleaned everyday (by Ira).

A: The students are writing their lessons now.
P: Their lessons are being written by the students now

A: Ira has cleaned the house for two hours.
P: The house has been cleaned for two hours (by Ira).
A: The students have written their lessons since at 07.45.
P: Their lessons have been written by the students since at 07.45
