Count on Definition:

Mental math strategy to add two numbers. We start with the biggest number of the numbers to added and count up to the second.

6 + 5 =?

We start on the biggest number (6) and then we count on  with the smallest number (5 ) 
start on 6 and go up 5....
7...8....9...10...11 
so 6 + 5 = 11
