The Quartering Act of 1765

The Quartering Act of 1765 made it so that colonists had to allow, or let in, the British soldiers no matter what. This also meant you had to provide them with food, clean clothes, water, and a place to sleep even if you did not want to.

Townshend Acts of 1767

The Townshend Acts of 1767 were a series, or multiple, laws and taxes that were passed by the British. These laws included more taxes that the colonists had to pay. It taxed imported goods, or things that were brought into the colonies, like paper, paint, glass, and tea. This made the colonists even angrier. Why?
