Division Algorithm: Box Method Steps

• Put each digit in the dividend in its own box

• Create a list of multiples for your divisor

• Starting in the left box, divide your digit by the divisor

• Subtract and find the remainder

• Carry the remainder to the next box

• Repeat steps 3-5 until all boxes have been used. Anything left over will be your remainder.
