Why is it important that I cite my sources?
As a writer, it is your responsibility to give proper credit to your sources
If you have not given proper credit to your sources, you have committed PLAGIARISM.
Plagiariam can result in serious consequences such as suspension, expulsion, fine, or even jail time

What is Plagiarism?
You have used someone else’s ideas without telling your reader where you took it from.
Any idea or fact that you received from a source needs to be cited.
Any idea or fact that is common knowledge does not need to be cited. For example, a facts like the earth rotates around the sun are common knowledge and would not have to be cited.

Name & Title
The “Works Cited” page is always going to be the last page of your essay or report.
You should type the words “Works Cited” as your title and centre it on the page.
put your last name as a header in the top right corner of the page

Formatting
once you have copied and pasted all of your citations onto your Works Cited Page, you need to put them in ALPHABETICAL ORDER
ensure that your font is size 12
double-space
the second and subsequent lines of a citation are always indented five spaces (hanging indent)
