When using graphs and tables

Remember: graphs have two axes, x and y

X runs left and right

Y runs up and down

Always start with X and move up/down to find Y

When filling in a table using a graph

X is the input value, and y which we now call f(x) is the output value

Use the graph to fill in the table

X is the input, f(x) is the output

If you're given the output move up or down to find the input

Put that number in your table as X

If you're given the input, X, find the output, f(x) value where the graph touches

What is X when G(x) = -6? 6 (which means G(6) = -6, the input is 6 the output is -6)

What is G(3)? Look to the x column, find 3, the answer is the other box. G(3) = -4
