You can always start with estimation to determine if your answer makes sense.


If the divisor (number outside or number you divide by) does not contain a decimal just bring the decimal from the dividend (inside) up into the answer and divide as normal.

Dividing Decimals With a Decimal in the Divisor

You cannot have a decimal in the divisor (outside of the division box).


If you do you must move the decimal until it is at the end of the number and match the movement of the decimals inside and then bring it up in the answer (above the divsion box).
