• 2 planes were flown into the 2 tallest buildings in the world, the World Trade Center Towers

• 1 plane was flown into the Pentagon building located in the nation's capital

• ​The Pentagon is the office of people responsible for national security and the military

​

Pennsylvania - a field

• 1 plane was flown into an open field in Pennsylvania

• The passengers of this plane fought with the terrorists and crashed the plane before it could be used as another weapon

Aftermath

• increase in security- especially in airports

• declared "War on Terrorism" - soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq

• hunt for Osama bin Laden

• hunt for Saddam Hussein

• increase in surveillance by national, state, and local governments​
