  • The millilitre (mL) is a small unit of capacity

  • This eyedropper has a capacity of 1 mL

  • It holds about 10 drops

  • This measuring jug has a capacity of 500 mL

  • It takes 2 of those measuring jugs to fill a 1L bottle:

  • 500 mL + 500 mL = 1000 mL

  • 1000 mL = 1L

Weird Measurements

  • Some containers have strange capacities

  • Ex: a can of pop has 355 mL

  • Why? Because 355 mL = 12 oz, which is the American measurement
