What are negative numbers?

  • Negative numbers are numbers below zero

  • Zero is not positive nor negative

3

How do we know when the answer will be negative or positive?

  • Negative + positive = negative/positive because, -5+3=-2 BUT -5+6=1 If the second addend is a positive number, see if it is bigger than the negative number which will not be the same with multiplying.

4

Multiplying numbers below zero.

If you'll multiply the negative numbers, first count the amount of negative signs. If there are a(n) even amount of negative signs it will be positive but if it were an odd amount, it will be negative(example: (-5)x(-5)= 25 or (-25)x5=-25
