Irregular Plural Nouns
Irregular plural nouns do NOT add -s, -es, or -ies when they are plurals.
The plural of person is people.
The plural of child is children.
The plural of mouse is mice.
The plural of fish is fish.
The plural of foot is feet.

A noun is a word.
A noun names a person, place, thing or idea!

Plural Nouns
A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing or idea.
To change a noun to a plural you usually just add an -s, o r -es.
If a noun ends in a consonant-y, change the y to an i and add -es to make it a plural.
If the noun ends in -fe, change -fe to -ve and add -s.

What is a singular possessive noun?
A singular possessive noun is when a person, place or thing owns something.
It is also when a person place or thing 'has' something.

Possessive Nouns
Just add an apostrophe-s ( 's ) to show possession.
the dog's water
the cat's toy
the school's principal
Mr. Bruno's best friend

Plural nouns mean more than one person, place or thing.
A possessive singular noun means a person, place or thing owns something or has something.
Only possessives have an apostrophe-s ( 's )!

What if a plural noun is possessive?
Well, this is when you must be a DETECTIVE! Notice all the clues!
First notice if the noun is a plural.
Next notice if the plural noun end in an 's'.
If the plural noun ends in an 's', you DO NOT NEED TO ADD ANOTHER 'S'!
Just add the APOSTROPHE!
