​A nouns is the name of a person place or thing.

​A proper noun is a person place or thing that has been given its own name.

​A shop is a noun. Woolworths is a proper noun.

​Rule

​Proper nouns have capitals common nouns do not.

​So:

​The boy Named Daniel went to the closest shop which was Woolworths.
