A nouns is the name of a person place or thing.
A proper noun is a person place or thing that has been given its own name.
A oy is a noun snd John is a proper noun.
A shop is a noun. Woolworths is a proper noun.

Proper nouns have capitals common nouns do not.
So:
The boy Named Daniel went to the closest shop which was Woolworths.
