Declarative, Imperative, Exclamatory & Interrogative
All of these sentence types can be used with any tense.

Declarative
Mainly used to tell things--facts, opinions, etc.
Always ends with a period.
"There are a lot of stars tonight."
"I will start eating healthy things."
"They were in hiding for fifteen years."

Open Ended
Can you write a declarative sentence? You can use any tense.

Imperative
Used to give commands and for making requests.
Can end with either an exclamation mark (!) or a period (.)
"Mimi, stop chasing my hamster!"
"Please bring me a cup of coffee."
"You have to finish your food!"
Can you guess why some imperative sentences end with exclamation marks while the rest end with periods?

Open Ended
Can you write an imperative sentence? You can use any tense.

Exclamatory
Shows strong feelings such as: excitement, joy, anger, frustration, etc.
Always ends with an exclamation mark (!)
"We did it, we finally graduated!"
"I'm going to bite Hambo if he doesn't stop biting me!"
"Those puppies are so adorable!"

Can you write an exclamatory sentence? You can use any tense.

Interrogative
Used to ask questions.
Always ends with question marks (?).
"Did you finish the game last night?"
"Do you think Kirby is stronger than Mario?"
"Will it rain tonight?"
