Along with the Renaissance and Protestant Reformation, the 1500s and 1600s saw new thinking in the scientific world

In Ancient Greece and Rome people used the gods to explain science. They believed the gods controlled the weather, sky, light, and dark.

During medieval times people studied the Greeks thoughts and believed faith and reason could exist in the same universe. They took the belief from the Greeks that the Earth was the center of the Universe.

During the Renaissance as more discoveries were made in new lands like Africa and the Americas it showed the limitations of Ancient and Medieval science and scholar's curiosity started to grow.
